Star 106.3’s Adam & Donny have left no rock unturned in launching a city-wide billboard campaign to find their promotions manager, Jake Lacey, a date. The campaign features Jake’s “app-ready” physique on every single digital billboard across Townsville.
The campaign followed a five-day “crash course” where the duo prepared Jake for his return to the dating scene, including a fresh tan, professional photoshoot, bio update, and even a “colour analysis”.
Then Adam and Donny surprised Jake, and likely the rest of Townsville, by flipping the switch to display his shirtless image on every POA digital asset in the city.
Adam and Donny said:
“Jake is a great guy, but he’s just had no luck with the ladies. We thought, what better way to help him out than to put his face on every billboard in town? It’s a bit of a laugh, but we’re also serious about finding him someone special”.
The response was immediate, if not quite in the aims of the duo. Traffic slowed as residents witnessed the “digital Jake”. Even the station’s Content Director, Stu, was caught off guard, saying:
“I have so many questions. I don’t know who’s paying for this because it didn’t come across my desk… but Jake looks fantastic”.
Jake too was initially shocked at being “topless on every billboard in Townsville,” but then embraced it, saying, “How are they going to contact me? Put my number on the billboard!”
Now the search for love continues as Adam and Donny take it upon themselves to review responses from the most visible dating profile in North Queensland history.
