Adelaide stations swapping and swimming

radioinfo continues its focus on the Adelaide market in the lead-up to the FM commercial licence auction at the end of this month.

Following Amanda Blair’s decision to quit SAFM, the station has moved Milly (Lisa Millard) to SAFM breakfast, disbanding the Triple M breakfast team of Andrew Jarman, Grant Cameron and Milly.

She will join new co-hosts Craig Bruce, Anthony “Lehmo” Lehmann and Andrew “Cosi” Costello in a new-look SAFM breakfast show from next week and format changes will follow at Triple M shortly afterwards.

Neither Andrew Jarman nor Grant Cameron are expected to return to the Triple M lineup in 2004, and the station is rumoured to be considering a Nova style format to pre-empt the new FM licence. New personalities will be part of the lineup.

Austereo General Manager Noelene Buddle recently told radioinfo “we know their game plan,” indicating that the rumours of a pre-emptive format strike may have some substance.

The Adelaide Advertiser reported that Amanda Blair “resigned last Friday after management refused to accept a list of demands from her.”

Meanwhile, at ARN’s MIX102.3’s Ali Carle will travel briefly to Sydney to swim against the champions on Bondi Beach in The Venus Passion Celebrity Splash, which supports Breast Cancer research.

Carle will be traveling to Sydney for the day, with 2 people from Adelaide, to meet up with representatives from all around the country to take part in the challenge in the Icebergs Pool, Bondi. The event takes place on Saturday October 18th.

Sara O’Hare will host the Venus Passion Celebrity Splash and will be joined by some of the biggest Australian names in swimming. Top line swimmers on the day include Elke Graham, Justin Norris, Michael Klim, Petria Thomas, Sarah Ryan and Scott Miller. With Ali Carle’s strong sporting background – particularly as a state Water Polo player, she’s bound to shine out above the opposition.
