AFTRS FM launches with ‘Stories That Matter’ on iHeartRadio

AFTRS Graduate Diploma in Radio and Podcasting students have launched AFTRS FM, their third pop-up station for the year.

AFTRS FM is live around Australia until Saturday 17 September, on the iHeartRadio app and via the AFTRS FM website.

Live from 12.00 pm to 8.00 pm (AEST) each day, audiences will hear well-targeted content and high-quality audio, news podcasts and audio fiction, all mixed in with the latest news, current affairs and what’s trending.

AFTRS Program Convenor, Radio and Podcasting, Natalie Pozdeev, says students are excited to be live across the nation, making meaningful news, current affairs and audio fiction content.

She says, “This truly is an exciting time in radio and podcasting. Students have developed skills in broadcast journalism, news reading, producing talk content and creating narrative stories. We are fortunate that our industry has been so supportive in nurturing and shaping these skills.”

iHeartRadio Content Director, Brett ‘Nozz’ Nossiter, says, “iHeartRadio is a long-time supporter of AFTRS Radio. We’re proud to be playing a pivotal role in giving students a real-life lesson on how to use tools and technology to create high quality, high value content, and connect with audiences. Radio and podcasting play a vital role in helping to inform and entertain listeners.”

Students will work with guest air checkers, mentors and coaches from across the industry during AFTRS FM, including Natalie Peters (2GB Nine Radio), Sian Gard (ABC), Andrea Ho (Judith Neilson Institute for Journalism and Ideas), and David Marchese (Triple J Hack).
