AFTRS goes live at the show

Acting Heads of Radio Tony Rasmussen and Jessica Campanaro say it’s show time for the full time and part time Graduate Diploma in Radio students in their annual baptism of fire into live broadcast.

Jess says “Students present, produce, report from the field and create digital content on site, sharing the fun and energy of the Sydney Royal Easter Show with listeners.

“One panel operator is based each shift at our studios in Moore Park to put the show to air as an Outside Broadcast,  while the rest of the crew collaborate on site from studio space with an amazing view across the main arena in Showground Stadium at Homebush.”

Each year AFTRS receive tremendous feedback from industry about the Show Radio broadcast and it’s a great opportunity for talent scouts to listen for the next generation of on-air stars, while former AFTRS students reminisce about their own time at the Show.

Show Radio is on-air, live, from 7am to 8pm until Tuesday, April 23, the last day of the Show, with a modern country music format featuring news and information about what’s happening in and around the Show.

For students it’s a chance to experience tremendous personal and professional growth over the two weeks, proving that there’s nothing like practical experience to get your broadcasting skills up!
Check out their digital content on the Show Radio website, meet the 2019 students or stream the on-air content.

Show Radio is also heard in parts of Sydney on 107.9FM.
