The Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) is rolling out the red carpet for future creatives on Saturday August 9 for its annual Open Day.
You can register here: AFTRS Open Day
This is your once-a-year chance to take a behind-the-scenes look at Australia’s national audio and screen school and to ignite your own future in the industry. There’ll be a live radio broadcast all day, as well as tours of AFTRS’ broadcast studios.
Senior staff will present deep-dive sessions into each course offering, including the Graduate Diploma in Radio and Podcasting, a practical program tailored to the modern-day content creator. Students will also be on hand to speak to you about their own course experience.
AFTRS Radio and Podcasting Convenor Natalie Pozdeev says the program attracts people from all backgrounds and walks of life and produces creative professionals who can shape the future of the dynamic and evolving audio industry:
“It’s consistently true in life that people want to connect with other people, and that we love doing that with stories. Audio storytelling is as relevant and needed as it’s ever been. Studying at AFTRS will help you master this craft.”
With flexible delivery options and strong employment outcomes, the course offers future students the opportunity to collaborate with others, gain real-world experience and learn skills that can be applied across a broad range of audio careers.
“Study from wherever you are, and learn how to tell the stories you want to tell,” Natalie says.
AFTRS’ state-of-the-art purpose-built campus at the Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park, boasts world-class facilities and will also host sessions on the Open Day for all other award courses. Expert practitioners will be on hand to welcome you and answer all your burning questions in lively discussions in Ask Us Anything sessions.
