AIR News service further growth

This week sees the latest ramp up in the delivery of Australian Independent Radio News, as it moves to an hourly bulletin basis between 7am and 6pm daily.

This coincides with the launch of the AIR News Virtual Newsdesk which, from today, allows newsreaders and editors across Australia to access common text and audio
facilities to write and present the news for the organisation.

The 7am news might, for example, come out of Melbourne, the 10am from Murray Bridge, the 2pm from Beaudesert and the 6pm from Bunbury, but it will all be prepared in the same format on the same system and taking advantage of
broadband internet facilities.

AIR News operator. Artie Stevens. says: “The Virtual Newsdesk means that we can utilise the skills of many talented Australians in the news’ field, who do not
wish to relocate in order to develop their careers.”

AIR News has also forged close ties with the US based Feature Story News Network, giving it quality worldwide input from FSN’s Washington, New York, Orlando, London, Moscow and Beijing bureaus and “on the ground” FSN reporters in Tehran and Baghdad.

AIR News is delivering services to Australian licensed community radio stations, and has been the provider for blackspot commercial operator, Freshstream FM.
