Alan Jones to ‘slow down’ after multiple health scares

Veteran 2GB Breakfast presenter Alan Jones has vowed to slow the pace of his hectic lifestyle after his latest health scare which doctors told him almost took his life.

The 76 years old broadcaster is currently recuperating at his secluded farm at Fitzroy Falls in the NSW Southern Highlands after contracting the deadly e coli virus.

Jones has been dogged by ill health for the past decade during which he’s fought off bouts of Prostate, Skin and Brain Cancer. He’s had multiple operations on his neck and back including a collapsed disc and several blood clots.

He told Chris Reason of Chanel 7 News that although retirement is out of the question, “What would I do?” he’ll be dialling back on his live appearances, charity work and correspondence.

But he won’t give up his talk radio show on 2GB – although he’ll likely be doing it from a studio installed in his home.

Whether from his country farm or from inner Sydney Ultimo, Alan Jones will be back on air, Monday.
