After 17 years, with the last two as Head of Digital Content and Innovation, Angela Stengel has departed the ABC.

Angela has overseen and been part of the biggest period of change and development the broadcaster has experienced. She watched podcasts emerge and then launched ABC Listen, the Creator Program, ABC Queer as well as being part of the first Innovation division and producing content for the earliest days of the ABC’s social accounts.

She said on LinkedIn:

“I had the freedom to experiment, backed by leaders who championed new ideas to engage bigger audiences and shape how media is experienced in Australia.”

I’ll share more soon about my next chapter, but for now thank you to everyone who made the past 17 years so meaningful, joyful and important in my life. Those same themes of creativity, audio, digital and innovation will be at the heart of what I do next.”
