Brisbane breakfast announcer, Loretta Ryan, will become EXTRA’s sixth guest host in
six weeks when she steps in front of the EXTRA camera on July 30. It will be long days
for Ryan who starts work each day at 4.30am with co-host Moyd Kay as one half of
4BH’s breakfast program.

EXTRA’s regular host, Jillian Whiting maternity leave and is due to return the show next year.

Loretta Ryan is a well known Brisbane radio personality starting at Radio 10, before
directing and presenting news on Triple M and b105 before moving into the breakfast
hosting seat for 4BH in 2006.

“I am looking forward to hosting EXTRA. It will be very long days, but well worth it – it’s
a great program. I visited Jillian this week and her new baby is just gorgeous, just like
her mum! Jill thinks the show is in great hands, so I am happy with that.”

Ryan continues the series of guest hosts that have included Jamie Dunn, Ian Skippen, Nova’s Emily-Jade O’Keeffe, ABC612 Spencer Howson, who copped a fair bit of criticism for his appearance . On the 19th of July radioinfo reported that Radio Nationals Media Report suggested it was indicative of creeping commercialism into the ABC.
