Archie Roach to perform live on ABC Local Radio

Described as a “legacy broadcast” and “one of the most significant radio events we‘ll put to air this year,” ABC Local Radio will pay tribute to the career of one Australia’s most loved and revered musicians, Archie Roach and mark the 25th anniversary release of his debut Charcoal Lane album.

In a live national broadcast from 7 pm AEDT on Tuesday, to celebrate Australian Music Month (Ausmusic Month), ABC Local Radio ABC Local Radio will broadcast a one hour radio special, featuring the songs and stories that shaped the unforgettably moving album, that  resonated deeply and was critically acclaimed both nationally and internationally.

Archie will be joined on stage with special guests and friends: Courtney Barnett, Briggs, Emma Donovan and Dan Sultan.  

Hosted by 774’s Evening presenter Lindy Burns and Jacinta Parsons, the tribute performance  will be broadcast live from the ABC  Southbank in Melbourne and simulcast throughout the national Local Radio network while audiences throughout Asia and the Pacific will also be able to enjoy a special evening as the program is simulcast on Radio  Australia on FM, Shortwave and via satellite.
