ARN’s Canberra representation

ARN has extended its sales representation to include Canberra’s FM 104.7 nationally, alongside its existing representation of the other ARN/Austereo joint venture station – Mix 106.3.

The appointment brings the two commercial FM stations in Canberra under one representation and means that media buyers can now access the town’s FM audience with one phone call.

ARN Chief Executive Officer Bob Longwell, said “the addition of FM 104.7 further strengthens ARN’s strategy to be the dominant network reaching 25-54 year olds in Australia”.

FM 104.7 was previously represented by Austereo which, like ARN, has recently undergone significant restructuring of its agency sales operations to provide greater focus on core demographics and enhance service levels to advertising agencies and their clients.

Both Austereo and the Australian Radio Network have simplified the buying process enabling them to buy any combination of network stations from a single account manager. At the same time, both organisations have increased sales support to lift service levels.

ARN General Sales Manager – Agency Brian Blacklock, told AMT: “The new structures reflect the changing needs of the market and were developed in consultation with key agency personnel. We believe our new focus and structure provides the best customer service in the radio industry, reflecting the changing requirements of agencies and media buyers.”
