Austereo stuck on Glue Society for Today ad campaign

Austereo is continuing its repositioning strategy in anticipation of more competition in coming months.

After recently appointing an advertising agency for Triple M, Austereo has now selected ‘The Glue Society’ to handle a major new advertising campaign for its other Today network.

The appointment is part of Austereo’s long-term strategy to continue the growth of the Today network, which includes Sydney’s 2Day FM, Melbourne’s Fox FM, Brisbane’s B105, Adelaide’s SA.FM and Mix 94.5 in Perth.

The Today network has already ramped up its star line-up, which includes Kyle and Jackie O at Drive in Sydney and Melbourne, and the nationally syndicated Hot 30 countdown with Labrat and Alexis in the evening. Both shows had the first and second highest ratings increase of any program in the latest Nielsen Media ratings survey.

Austereo chief executive Michael Anderson says The Glue Society’s innovative approach will help even more listeners discover the network with Australia’s best line-up of star talent.

“The Glue Society has gained a reputation for tremendously creative campaigns,” says Anderson.

“They’re a great fit to promote the Today network as it continues to show the innovation that has mode it the top network.”

The Glue Society’s joint creative director Jonathon Kneebone told radioinfo: “The Today network is the premier radio brand in the country and we’re very excited to be able to help craft its look and feel as it goes forward.

“We’re looking forward to be able to craft an exciting campaign around some of Today’s stars such as Rove McManus, Judith Lucy and Peter Hellier.”

The Glue Society has run some of the more memorable campaigns of the past year, including Virgin Mobile and Channel V.

The appointment follows last week’s announcement that Austereo has appointed The Campaign Palace to launch a new advertising campaign for its Triple M network.
