Australian radio industry represented in Cannes

Southern Cross Austereo’s Matt Dickson will represent the Australian radio industry in Cannes next month, with his selection as a juror on the Cannes Lions radio jury panel.

Matt is currently Head of Creativity for The Studio, SCA’s client creative services unit. His work has been awarded both nationally and internationally on many prior occasions.

He has won Gold, Silver and Bronze at the Siren Awards, has four ACRAS to his name, and has been recognised at the London International Awards (LIA), the New York Festivals, The One Show and at AWARD.

Matt said the opportunity to help select the world’s most creative audio work at Cannes next month is a huge honour.

“The fact that people still find ways to innovate on one of the world’s oldest mediums is something I find really exciting and inspiring. Radio has always been my passion, as the tight constraints of 30 or 60 seconds of audio seem to yield endless creative possibilities.

“It’s also very exciting to see what’s possible outside of the ad break, as creatives look for opportunities to communicate beyond commercials.”

SCA’s Chief Sales Officer Brian Gallagher said, “We are very proud to have Matt selected to represent Australia on the Cannes Lions jury panel. This appointment recognises SCA’s depth of creative ability and reinforces SCA’s broader strategy of delivering great outcomes for clients with, strong, insight led ideation.”

Matt will join his fellow Australian jurors for the 64th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, held from 17-24th June in Cannes, France.
