A strong wind could easily knock B105 breakfast funny guy Stav Davidson over.
He’s tall, lanky, all arms and legs, and absolutely not known for any form of fitness, let along boxing.
Yet this Saturday, Stav is fighting in his first ever boxing match, in a real boxing ring, against a real life opponent, and yes he’s freaking out, but he’s doing it to raise money for the SMALL STEPS 4 HANNAH Foundation, which was founded by the Clarke family after the horrific murder of their daughter by her husband.
The Clarkes are very close to Stav’s breakfast co-host Abby Coleman. And when she asked Stav to literally “fight for this cause”, he was in.
That was 10 weeks ago in which Stav’s had 10 weeks to learn to box, get fit, and arrive fight-ready.
Saturday’s fight will be held at the Royal International Convention Centre, RNA Showgrounds, one of a few fights that night hosted by Fight For A Cause.
The evening is a classic, Las Vegas Fight Night where men will don tuxedos and women will wear formal dresses, and there will be all in between.
In a nod to Stav’s Scottish heritage, he will be walked out by the Queensland Police Pipes & Drums mini-band (2 bagpipers and 2 drummers), accompanied by four Scottish Dancers.
Stav has been matched with Will Cruice, a 26 year old Brisbane boy who works in finance.
Here is the audio of when they met on-air.
