Bar Rat joins The Shebang

Adam Barratt has joined Triple M’s drive time show ‘The Shebang’ as the program’s anchor. He replaces Byron Cooke who finished up on Friday afternoon to move to Los Angeles to be with his fiance.

Barratt has been with Austereo for 2 years working previously as afternoon presenter at Triple M, operating under the pseudonym ‘the Bar Rat’.

Shebang presenters Fifi Box and Marty Sheargold have welcomed Barratt to The Shebang, with Box telling radioinfo: “Adam is a fantastic guy and a brilliant announcer and Marty and I are incredibly lucky to have him joining our team. It’s a really difficult role to fill and Adam has risen to the challenge beautifully. We can’t wait to kick off our first show on Monday with Adam on board!”

Marty Sheargold told radioinfo: “Adam Barratt has been tried and tested over a 2 year period with Triple M. He understands the station and the show’s sensibility and seemed a natural choice for the Shebang. Fifi and I are really looking forward to working with Adam.”

“To go The Shebang with Fifi and Marty will be Sheargold! It’s such a great honour to be given the chance to be part of the number one drive show in Australia. Byron’s groove in the anchors chair will be hard to fit into but if I can do half the job he did, then I know the show will continue to grow”, Barratt told radioinfo.
