Barry Washington returns to the airwaves

After some time off the airwaves, Barry Washington returns to radio at KLFM (3EON FM) Bendigo.

Barry, whose career started at 3BO Bendigo in the 50’s, moved to gracing the Screens of Central Victorians at BCV 8 for a few years.  Barry then moved to BTV 6 Ballarat where he stayed for several years.  He returned to the airwaves at 5AU  Wyalla before taking over as GM of 3HA Hamilton.  After a short time, Barry bought 3HA and stayed as Manager/Owner until he sold the station to 3UZ.

Retiring in Bendigo, Barry has joined the Broadcasting team at community radio station KLFM Bendigo along with former collegues Barrie Hanson former 3MA and BCV 8, Grant McMaster former 3CV, 3TR and others, and of course radio legend Ian “Nicko” Nicholls, whom it has been roumored will be returning to KLFM to host a regular gig soon.

“I’m absolutely loving it” Barry said after his first shift back on air.  “I’m a bit rusty, and technology has certainly changed, but it’s wonderful to be behind the mic again, particually at such a great station” he said.  “KLFM is just like commercial radio was in the 50’s and 60’s with a direct focus on listeners”.

Barry is on air Monday and Tuesdays from Midday to 2pm on Radio KLFM (3EON FM), 96.5 Bendigo and North, 106.3 Castlemaine and South, and Streaming on line at www.klfm.com.au
