Battle of the Buns is back

The Old Fernvale Bakery and River 94.9 FM are rolling out another installment of ‘Battle of the Buns’.

Until Easter Monday (2nd April 2018), $1 from every packet of hot cross buns sold will go to the Children’s Hospital Foundation, helping to make kids laugh and smile, get better and go home sooner.

There are more than 25 flavours to choose from, including pina colada, jaffa, peppermint and choc-chip. And The Old Fernvale Bakery is serving up a number of speciality auctions along the way.

There’ll be a weekly auction for one-of-a-kind, gourmet first-release, hot cross bun flavours and designs, which will be first-tasted by the winning bidder; keep an eye on The Old Fernvale Bakery’s Facebook page to place your bid to win.

River 94.9 FM has put up a ‘pool’ of up to $20,000 in commercial airtime – to giveaway to businesses that make winning bids.

The station will match the amount of each of the ten winning auction bids with Airtime Vouchers to the same value, for each successful business that wins a gourmet auction.

Shane O’Brien, General Manager of River 94.9 FM, said, “We are so thrilled to be partnering with The Old Fernvale Bakery again – to raise much-needed funds for the most critical hospital facility in our State for Queensland’s children.

“The Children’s Hospital Foundation does so much for the health and well-being of thousands of our children and their families – in their time of greatest need. We saw first-hand just how important our contribution was last year – and we want to provide even more this year … with your support”.

Hot cross buns can be purchased to help the Children’s Hospital Foundation make an even bigger difference to the lives of sick children – just by visiting the Old Fernvale Bakery, on the Brisbane Valley Pie-Way in Fernvale.
