Big Day Out partners with C3 Presents and launches mobile app

Big Day Out Festival has announced a new partnership with C3 Presents, promoters of Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits Music Festival in the USA. Big Day Out and C3 will collaborate in the continued growth and expansion of the festival in Australia with the union of talent development, creative execution and production, commercial excellence and innovation to expand on what a global music business can achieve.

C3 Presents, with its rapid expansion of festivals and touring activity in the South American market, along with its depth of relationships with artists and audiences in the US, will work with Big Day Out to focus particular attention on what their Trans-Pacific relationship can offer to increase opportunities for Australian and international artists across the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.

I am really happy to be able to announce this new partnership. I could not have found more creatively sympathetic, commercially dynamic and like-minded partners than the guys at C3. We remain a locally passionate music business but can revel and excel in what this new global relationship and its combined wealth of knowledge and experience can bring for Australian audiences and Australian and international artists,” says Big Day Out founder Ken West.

C3 Presents Partner Charlie Walker says C3 is “thrilled to be entering this creative partnership with Big Day Out and are honored to become a part of the outstanding 20 year legacy that the festival has created.”

C3 Presents is the force behind two of the U.S.’s top music festivals — Austin City Limits Music Festival and Lollapalooza, including the festivals recent expansion to Latin America. Every year, each of these festivals attracts more than 200,000 people over a three-day weekend and is staged in greenspaces in the urban heart of its host city. In addition, C3’s award-winning talent division books and promotes more than 1,000 concerts in arenas, theaters, casinos, and clubs across the US and books major artist tours.

Big Day Out has also launched a Mobile App, which is available to download now and it is set to enhance the festival experience by providing “everything you need to get organised, stay connected and never miss a thing on the day.”

Last year over 100,000 people downloaded the Big Day Out App and the festival has been working overtime to construct a bigger and better App for Big Day Out 2012.  Fully integrated with social networks, festival goers can set their logins for Facebook and Twitter so posting pics and comments is easy.
