Bill Shorten surprised Australia with his MC skills during a rap battle on Nova 96.9 this morning.
Shorten faced off with Sydney’s Ray Hadley and Nova hosts Fitzy and Wippa, busting out some rhymes over 50 Cent’s In Da Club. Hadley was named the winner, but not before MC Shorten threw down a few lines:
‘I’m Bill Shorten, I’m head of my pack – the Sydney Swans gave Fitzy the sack.
Wippa’s not bad, but just a waste of my time, you boys will be crying by the end of my rhyme.
Each day I listen to you fellas whinge and whine – I’d rather go to Question Time with Christopher Pyne.’
Hadley (Fitzy’s ‘secret weapon’) weighed in by asking the Opposition Leader, ‘should I be talking to you or Anthony Albanese?’
The on-air rap battle comes just days after PM Malcolm Turnbull’s attempt to rap on Channel Ten’s The Project following the controversy over US rapper Macklemore’s performance of Same Love at the NRL grand final.
