Brisbane radio stations are flood bound in Qld’s latest emergency

With the widespread flooding in Brisbane and SE Queensland continuing to create havoc, at least two Brisbane radio stations are showing immediate effect.

ABC Brisbane has been inundated with floodwaters on the lower levels and Jessica van Vonderen tweeting pictures of the flood waters surrounding the building

 

97.3FM‘s studio has a flooded basement car park and lower level with only minimal staff being allowed in the building.

Robin Bailey is broadcasting from home this morning, kept indoors by rising floodwaters that have inundated the ground floor of her house.

A distraught Robin told the Lord Mayor, Adrien Trinner, that with the lower level of her home at Fig Tree Pocket under water that she was “…so frightened, I don’t even know what’s going to happen.”

The Mayor advised her to contact the SES for evacuation.
