Brisbane’s Grill Team name Summer’s Best Sausage

What is it with Triple M and meat lately? It seems that Merrick and the Highway Patrol is not the only show on Triple to be obsessed with meat. But, we suppose if you call yourself The Grill Team and you’re targeting blokes, then pastoral animal products are bound to figure in your repetoire.

Research is on their side. “Australians eat 11 ½ million sausages a week,” says Marto. “So we were pretty keen to see what flavour Brisbane would vote for.”

Game on.

The idea for the Summer Sausage Challenge came about because Marto, Pete and Michelle all claimed the title of BBQ king/queen. So the challenge began with each creating their own flavor, then trialing it amongst friends, before Brisbane was asked to vote.

The vote is in with The Grill Team declaring live on Triple M that Marto’s Lamb Roast sausage was the winner with 47% of Brisbane’s votes, beating out Michelle Anderson’s Taco flavoured sausage on 40% of the votes, with Pete Timbs’ San Choi Bow sausage attracting just 13% of listener support.

Says Marto, “Fortunately, they realised the pure brilliance of the Lamb Roast flavour, as the traditional much loved taste that stops the nation. I’m proud to be the winner here today, and am looking forward to sharing my sausages with Brisbane this Friday.”

So this coming Friday at Bradbury Park, all Brisbane is invited to a Lamb Roast Sausage Sizzle, hosted by The Grill Team, and starring Marto’s Lamb Roast Sausages, created exclusively for the event by the sponsor’s team at Super Butcher.
