Bumped: 5 Seconds of Summer’s global fan convention Derp Con

The Today Network has announced The Bump as the exclusive Australian radio partner for 5 Seconds of Summer’s (5SOS) official global fan convention, Derp Con. 

The Aussie music phenomenon, who have achieved international stardom with hits including She Looks So Perfect, will host a global fan convention called Derp Con in LA on the 15th – 16th of November this year with, “derping” being a well-known term among 5SOS fans for ‘goofing around’.  Just 60 lucky 5SOS fans worldwide will get their hands on tickets to Derp Con through exclusive outlets, and only three Australian winners in total will be given the epic opportunity to attend – two of those via The Bump.  

Head of the Today Network, Dave Cameron, said: “This is a massive win for The Today Network and our listeners. 5 Seconds of Summer are Australia’s hottest international property at the moment, and we’re really proud to be the exclusive Australian radio partner for what promises to be an incredible event in November.” Aussie fans can enter by listening to The Bump and through The 5SOS FAN CAM Competition, presented by PlayStation 4with thanks to SingStar: Ultimate Party, which can be entered into in two ways.

A competition will be running online nationally from  1 – 11 October via www.bumpshow.com.au, while 5SOS FAN CAM installations will be set up in selected Westfield shopping centres from 1st – 5th October.  

Hosted by Angus O’LoughlinThe Bump will offer Derp Con experiences including return flights for two to LA, an opportunity to meet the band, and a double pass to the 5SOS concert on the Saturday night of Derp Con (15th November).

To celebrate Derp Con and the release of SingStar: Ultimate Party, The Bump is excited to help kick off the Ultimate Party with 5SOS at Derp Con in LA. SingStar: Ultimate Party is coming soon to PlayStation 4. The redesigned game will come with a disc featuring 30 of the hottest pop tracks around, along with a companion app for iOS and Android that will turn your mobile phone into your very own mic.

The Bump, which airs from 7 – 10pm weeknights, will fully embrace Derp Con with exclusive updates and special news in the lead up to the convention.
