Commercial radio stations in Cairns have fresh insights on their listening audiences with radio ratings for the competitive Far North Queensland market released for the first time since 2003.

Hot FM is the station most listened to all people 10+ with 27.1%, followed by Star 102.7 with 16.6% and Sea FM 14.8%.

In breakfast HOT FM again dominates with 27.1% followed by Star FM with 17.3% and ABC Local Radio 14.8%.

Joan Warner, chief executive officer of industry body Commercial Radio Australia, said radio stations in Cairns had undergone change in recent times with new branding, new on-air teams and new studios to ensure they kept pace with their listeners.
