Caralis expands further, baits chief engies

Bill Caralis‘ 2SM Supernetwork has expanded its reach still further into New South Wales and Queensland with the launch of three translator services as part of its multi-million dollar technical upgrade.

Group Engineer Alan Bone yesterday hit the ‘on-switch’ on three new state of the art facilities (including new transmitters and transmission towers) at 89.3 FM Walcha, 90.5 FM Condobolin and 95.9 FM Dalby

Caralis says, “I am very pleased to expand my network’s coverage into another 3 major regional markets in NSW and South East Queensland where the Supernetwork offers listeners and advertisers an unmatched marketing
and listening opportunity on some 33 stations and 33 translators.

“I am also very privileged to have a Group Engineer of the calibre of Alan Bone who personally carries out all the Supernetwork project management and installations on all our sites. When I arrived in Sydney I was shocked and disappointed to see that metropolitan and many regional broadcast engineers just don’t seem to get involved in any
installation work and simply employ outside contactors to facilitate
their stations and transmitter installations. I wonder what they all do!

“I am lucky to have a man who rolls up his sleeves, is very hands on and has installed some 55 transmitter, translator and studio installations and upgrades over the past 15 years. He is simply outstanding and a great talent.”

The Supernetwork is now the second largest network in Australia and plans to expand even further at a blistering pace. Another seven translator sites at Port Macquarie, Walgett, Wellington, Warialda, Kandos and Mungindi (2) are expected to be live by March 2007.

Also on the agenda in the new year will be new office and studio facilities for
recently purchased stations in Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie and Orange followed by new studio facilities at 2HD-New FM Newcastle and 2TM-92.9 Tamworth

Caralis obviously filled with seasonal cheer added for radioinfo, “2006 was a great year for the Supernetwork and 2007 is going to be an even better year, I just need Santa Claus to keep those Cap City engineers up there with Rudolf the Reindeer and out of my way!”
