Cars and Trucks drove radio advertising in February

Retailers of consumer electronics may be feeling the pinch and cutting back on advertising but car and truck dealers are spending up big. According to figures released by AirCheck, ads for Cars and Trucks accounted for a massive 45% of all advertising heard on commercial stations in Australia’s eight largest markets.

While Car and Truck Dealers accounted for 27% of ads, another 18% was purchased by the manufacturers.

Melbourne was the most prolific market for theses categories with Dealers taking first place with 5,659 exposures shared between 65 different brands. Manufacturers took second place with 4,468 exposures shared between 59 brands.
