Celebration time in Toronto: Radiodays North America 2024

By David Rogerson

Radiodays North America is just under a month away from June 2-4, 2024, at the Westin Harbour Castle, Toronto. There’s a host of speakers announced for this year’s conference, including four Australians, with over 23 countries participating in a well-rounded agenda.

I’m excited to say I’ll be covering everything RDNA plus the associated Canada Music week celebrations for Radioinfo and Radio Today. The Australian audio market continues to be the poster child for “getting it right” in the radio business.

Joining me in Toronto this year will be newly appointed Head of Music for ABC Audio Emily Copeland talking about strategic brand building. John Musgrove from Commercial Radio and Audio brings his overview behind radio’s success in Australia, providing ideas that could be adapted for your market. There’ll have more details on other key Australian guests closer to the big event.

Also speaking will be Eric Nuzum, veteran podcast creator and strategist, who will distil a career’s worth of wisdom, advice, practical information, and big-picture thinking to help podcasters “make noise”—to stand out in this fastest of fastest-growing media universes.

Sean Ross, editor of the Ross On Radio newsletter and a longtime Classic Hits strategist will be doing a session on: Keeping Throwback Radio Moving Forward touching on keeping the format topical and relevant, musical trends in gold-based formats and how to negotiate a more crowded landscape.

Radiodays North America is about all things audio, over the air, digital and podcasting and will add a further focus on the emergence of AI and its impact on the industry. I’ll chat with Australian expats carving out their media and entertainment successes in a wide range of countries, cities and markets too.

But more on that soon!
