Changes afoot on Hobart radio

The replacement for Anna Dare, who controversially resigned from 7HOFM breakfast in Hobart, has been revealed.

Maria Foundas announced on the Ace Radio Network’s The Morning Rush today, she’d be stepping in to replace Anna alongside Mick Newell.

Maria currently hosts The Morning Rush with Jon Vertigan.

“Yes, Maria is joining Mick Newel in Breakfast and I am excited and can’t wait for them to kick off on air in 2017,” says CD Allan Cameron

“I’ve been a big fan of Maria and the Morning rush and this is the perfect opportunity to bring two incredibly talented, dynamic, engaging and fun people together in a truly totally 100% Hobart Breakfast show.”

Anna resigned in early November after she was removed off-air for remarks she made following a fatal accident on a ride at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast.

Mick, who shot to fame on the reality show My Kitchen Rules, has been hosting the show since Anna departed with his son Matt Newell, his partner on MKR and former Hit 100.9 morning announcer

Maria is originally from South Australia.

Meantime down the road at the newly branded Triple M (formerly Heart 107.3), it’s understood Kylie Baxter is not returning to the breakfast show in 2017 alongside Dave Noonan.

Kylie replaced Kim Napier who resigned in late 2014 after fifteen years as part of the Kim and Dave Show.

Sources to radioinfo say Alison Plath,  an announcer and comedian from Queensland will step in alongside Dave
