Edith Cowan University’s Graduate Diploma of Broadcasting student Chelsea Boothman is the recipient of the Commercial Radio and Audio (CRA) prize awarded to the student with the most potential in commercial radio.
Chelsea achieved distinctions in all her radio units and was recognised for her talent, hard work, and dedication toward radio broadcasting.
She said:
“I am looking at going into the radio industry as an announcer, wherever that may be. I love radio because it’s a platform where I can truly express my personality and connect with listeners. The radio environment is such a dynamic space, and I really enjoy how everyone works together to bring shows to life.”
Lizzie Young, CRA Chief Executive Officer said:
“Congratulations to Chelsea, whose passion and drive represents the exceptional talent emerging in our industry. We’re proud to support her journey, as nurturing talent like hers is essential to the continued vibrancy of commercial radio.”
Andrea Burns, the course coordinator added:
“Mentorship and industry backing play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of broadcasters. Chelsea’s success is a testament to her hard work and the power of these relationships.”
The CRA award was presented by former CRA Chair Gary Roberts AO (both pictured) and includes a $2,000 cash prize. Chelsea worked at NOVA Perth during her studies and hopes the CRA award will help to launch her professional career.
