The list of finalists for this year’s Commercial Radio Awards (formerly Rawards) has been released. For the entire list click here.

Commercial Radio Australia CEO Joan Warner said the finalists reflected the “high standard of commercial radio broadcasting throughout Australia… The finalists have been chosen from a record number of entries this year – over 1227 entries were received nationally – up from 801 last year. Finalists have been decided by industry judging panels with judging of the finalists to be held soon and winners announced on the night of the Awards.”

The Awards, which celebrate the best of commercial radio, are in their 14th year, and have been expanded this year to include an inaugural Listeners’ Choice Awards and Commercial Radio Hall of Fame. This year for the first time, listeners will be able to vote for their favorite radio personality as part of a new Listeners’ Choice Awards.

There are a total of 25 categories including Best Talk Personality, Best Music Director, Best News Presenter, Best Newcomer and Best Current Affairs Presenter. This year a new category, Most Popular Station Manager, has also been included.

The Awards are organised by Commercial Radio Australia and will be held at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre on October 19.
