The Daily Telegraph is reporting (subscription required) that legendary radio personality Doug Mulray is in the midst of a health crisis.

Mulray, who turned 71 this month, is said to be battling chronic illness and had recently been admitted to a Sydney hospital.

Just under two months ago he was seen at a Triple M Staff reunion party at the Oaks Hotel, Neutral Bay, where he made a surprise appearance and in an emotional speech, paid tribute to retired Sydney radio executive Rod Muir.

Affectionately known as ‘Uncle Doug’, Mulray stepped back from the limelight in 2005 after briefly hosting Network Ten’s Beauty And The Beast in 2002 and appearing as a judge on Nine’s Starstruck.

He was inducted into the ACRA Hall of Fame in 2019.
