It’s always good to be prepared with an advanced heads up of what you can expect from an industry related conference. The Radio Days North America (RDNA) gathering of media types from around the world has everything in the conference agenda I want to attend.
That’s where it’s really difficult for me. Having been part of many panels and discussion presentations over the years it was easy just being the keynote of feature speaker. Write my bullet notes, have my slide deck ready, settle the butterflies in the stomach, present them, then sit back and take in the sights and sounds.
This time though, I’m on the other side of the radio mic so to speak. Radioinfo has graciously asked me to cover the sessions in Toronto, Canada starting Sunday June 2nd and follow the events and artists that feature in Canada Music Week. How do I choose where to be and who to see?
RNDA is a mix of sessions on AI, podcasts, programming, listener based research and diffing deep into radio beyond 2024. Select sessions feature Australians both expats and industry expertise who have travelled ty Toronto by invite from the RNDA Organizers. That’s a lot to be proud of for our fellow radio people including Ronnie Stanton, Emily Copeland and John Musgrove to name a few . Plus of course “I now call Australia home” James Cridland.
I’m really looking forward to see how the onion that is AI is peeled back layer by layer and checking out the positives it brings to our industry. Podcasts are growing at a rapid rate, so hearing tips and tactics on how to maximize your podcast engagement for me is a must see and hear.
Of course being honored as an invite to share the luncheon table with Dave Charles when he is inducted into the Canada Hall Of Fame is a privilege that I’m definitely going to be at.
If there’s anything you’d like to me to drop into and get the latest on for you just leave a post on the RadioInfo page below. There’s a link below to all of the upcoming sessions: https://cmw.net/radiodays/conference/programming/
