Daniel Harford and Michael Felgate confirmed among the RSN casualties in SEN takeover

Long-term RSN hosts Daniel Harford and Michael Felgate have been confirmed among the casualties following SEN’s acquisition of the iconic Melbourne racing station.

Addressing the elephant in the room on-air with Felgate this morning, SEN boss Craig Hutchison said the Breakfast with Harf program and Racing Pulse will no longer exist under the new programming line-up.

Hutchison said “They’re both magnificent shows, so no disrespect at all to the quality of the programming and to the identities involved – you and Daniel, who have been incredible servants to RSN.”

Hutchison says it’s nothing personal. “It’s about streamlining the front of the day to try and then reinvest in the afternoons and the back end of the day.”

Under the program changes announced yesterday, RSN’s Gareth Hall will be on air from 8am until midday with his show Giddy Up With Gareth.

Hutchison says SEN is fiercely behind racing, chasing and pacing – and determined to build all three industries nationally.

As RSN staff face a period of uncertainty, Hutchison is keen to earn the trust and respect of the audience, and is asking listeners to give the new programming a go.
