Dictator tells Fitzy and Wippa he wants some Aussies in his government

Nova has wisely put a warning on the uncut version of Fitzy and Wippa’s interview with The Dictator (aka Sacha Baron Cohen). Tuesday’s interview with Baron Cohen’s newest character may have had the Nova lawyers worried, but they presumably decided the uncut version was clearly comedy and would be safe to put on the website with a language and content warning. The interview that went to air was a lot tighter and cleaner for breakfast radio.

The interview covered the topics of Katy Perry, Julia Gillard, New Zealanders and Rachael Finch, with Wippa potentially sailing close to the wind on the topic of former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Peter Slipper.

When Fitzy asked, “what do you think about our leaders, the leaders of our country?” Baron Cohen responded, “you have Gillard…if you put a sack over her head she’s not bad looking.”

Baron Cohen continued, “I’m actually so interested in your leaders, that I want to have some of them in my country, and appoint them to government.”

“I am meeting a guy called Slipper…Slipper Pete?”

“Yes, Slippery Pete”, replied Fitzy.

“But if he works for me”, said Cohen, “he will need to change his behaviour; there will need to be a lot more sexual harassment. And not just of the boys, also of the girls, and the children…just the boy children, no-one under eleven…No sleazy stuff…nothing in the mouth, and maybe in the ‘fatut’ and that is it….and certainly no fiddling with the ‘malowa’; these are the rules. He wants to come and work with me, Slippery Pete? Fine.”

Civil claims against Slipper regarding allegations that he sexually harassed a male staffer have not been resolved, and he was recently cleared of cab charge fraud.

As with his past characters, Baron Cohen is determined to offend as many people as he can with his new movie. It’s bound to be a hit.

Watch the whole catastrophe here. It’s funny, but as Nova says: WARNING: Contains highly offensive themes and language.
