The difference between Radio and TV advertisers is in the numbers

The top ten advertisers on TV and Radio makes for interesting analysis. Harvey Norman tops both charts. But that’s where the similarity ends.

The chart, (right) compiled by AirCheck Broadcast Monitoring, shows the top 10 advertisers on TV and Radio for the week of May 12-18.

Although Harvey Norman is the number one advertiser on both television and Radio, only Radio gets Harvey Norman’s other brands, Domayne and Rebel Sport. McDonald’s chooses radio while competitor KFC features on TV.

TV benefits greatly from the rivalry between supermarket rivals Coles and Woollies while Radio makes do with the dubious benefit of Advanced Medical Institute.

The chart also shows that advertisers tend to buy about three times as many exposures on Radio as they do on TV.
