Dingbat Technology hires Ben Hietbrink as part of expansion

Dingbat Technology, an IT consulting company for the broadcast industry has announced an important staff acquisition as part of its expansion plans.

Ben Hietbrink , formerly IT Manager for Radio 2GB, will begin
with Dingbat Technology in December as Senior IT Engineer.
Until now, Dingbat Technology has been a “one man band”, started by Paul Dengate in 2000. To
service a growing client base and workload, expansion became important to Dengate’s “declining sanity.”

He has told radioinfo:
“Having Ben on board means we can now provide 24-hour IT support every day of the year and be in more than
one place at a time.

“While there are many experienced IT consulting firms to choose from, Dingbat Technology is one of few to have qualified and experienced IT staff who fully understand the needs of a broadcast facility.

“Every modern broadcaster now depends on IT systems to stay on-air, so it’s vital their IT solutions are married
with mission critical broadcast needs.”

Hietbrink has had over 8 years IT experience, mostly in the broadcast industry. He says he’s “really
looking forward to being able to design and implement IT systems for many different types of businesses.”

Dingbat Technology’s range of services includes network design, project management, support &
troubleshooting, SQL database administration, Microsoft .NET application development, documentation, user
training and integration of broadcast and IT systems.

Paul Dengate started his career as an announcer, but most in the radio industry knew him as Operations &
Technology Manager at 2UE’s syndication service Sky Radio. He also has experience with Digital TV
technology contracting to TCN9, DubSat and Adstream, and is a world renowned expert on Logitek digital
console router systems for radio.
