Double J’s new Hottest 100 of 1998

After replaying the 1998 Hottest 100 last week, Double J threw the polls open once more to see how tastes had changed over the past 20 years.

The result was a whole new, albeit completely unofficial, top ten, thanks to the 66,000 who weighed in on what should be celebrated as the best music of that year.

While some things have changed, some are destined to stay the same with the original #1 ‘Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)’ taking out the top spot for the second time in history.

Here’s the new top ten songs of 1998

1. The Offspring – ‘Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)’
2. Regurgitator – ‘! (Song Formerly Known As.)’
3. Rob Zombie – ‘Dragula’
4. TISM – ‘Whatareya’
5. Garbage – ‘I Think I’m Paranoid’
6. Metallica – ‘Unforgiven II’
7. Beastie Boys – ‘Intergalactic’
8. Josh Abrahams & Amiel Daemion – ‘Addicted To Bass’
