HIT 91.9 Bendigo announcer Emily Tresidder is now also being heard on the Adelaide airwaves full time, with her role at SCA extended to include SAFM Workdays.
For the past year, Emily has been doing fill-in shifts across the network – including on Newcastle’s HIT 106.9 and SAFM – as well as national network shifts in all metro markets.
“HIT Bendigo and the Bendigo community keep me, and now the Adelaide airwaves get me too!” said Emily in a LinkedIn post.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity to join the awesome team at SAFM. I can’t wait to see what we can do together.”
Tresidder – a successful stand up comedian – also produces, hosts and edit a weekly podcast for the LiSTNR app called Where to BendiGO, as well as the local sporting podcast Court Up with Emily Tresidder.
It's concerning Radioinfo has only run a cut and paste of the Emily Tressider story.
Where was the commentary on radio professionals taking on more and more work for wages that can really only be described as slave labour?
Congratulations to Emily.
I'm sure she is a wonderful presenter.
However, doing SA-FM Adelaide workdays from Bendigo while also pulling a regional shift on HIt is extraordinary and highlihhts the deep trouble the industry finds itself in.
At a time when radio is in the battle of its life for ears and dare I say it - survival, perhaps it's time for the SCA execs to take a decent haircut, so they can hire more airstaff - rather than flogging their current roster to death - and bring back local.
Without localism, you may as well save power and turn off the TX because nobody is listening anymore.
