Ex triple j hosts start a podcast/bar

Ex-triple j radio hosts Alex Dyson and Kyran Wheatley have released a new comedy podcast, MIRTH, recorded live every day of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and featuring a wide-range of guests from the wealth of comedic talent that call’s the CBD home during April.

The first episode features Rhys Nicholson and Melbourne musician Woodes and was recorded in BOB Bar, Little Collins Street.

BOB Bar is a pop-up space created for the festival in partnership with Alex and Kyran, Bellingin Brewery designer/operator Benji Mayes, Melbourne brewery Stomping Ground and Barry Award nominated comedian, Rhys Nicholson.

Co-founder of Stomping Ground Brewing Co, Steve Jeffares, says, “It is important to us to support the culture of Melbourne, and as big comedy fans we were excited to get involved when Alex and Kyran presented us with this opportunity. There was a quick turnaround, but we love a challenge!”

MIRTH is recorded live at the venue, and Kyran says “All Melbournians are invited to come and watch MIRTH live each day from 5pm. We’ll have comedians popping in, special guest hosts at times, and would love to get audience interaction happening too. Provided it fits within the confines of our Public Liability Insurance.”
