Former 4MMM GM joins 4BC

Radio Station 4BC has announced the appointment of Jim Johnston as its new Sales Manager. Johnston was, until recently, the General Manager of Triple M Brisbane, and was made redundant as a result of restructuring.

Johnston’s radio career began at 4BK, where he was one of their most successful radio Sales Representatives. Since those early days in radio, he has worked in the capacity of either General Manager or Sales Director with radio companies including 4IP, the Macquarie Radio Network, Austereo Network, B105 and the past 12 years at Triple M.

During his time in radio, Johnston has developed exceptionally strong relationships with the Brisbane business, sporting and charitable communities. He said: “I am genuinely excited to come on board at 4BC as Sales Manager as it gives me the opportunity to work closely with David McDonald in helping him to further develop a very strong proactive sales team to move 4BC and Southern Cross Broadcasting to future success”.

David McDonald told radioinfo: “This is a great coup for 4BC to be able to obtain the services of someone of Jim Johnston’s calibre. Not only are we trying to strengthen our on-air product, but the quality of our off-air team as well. Jim is someone who is extremely well respected and trusted by his peers in the industry. I am very pleased to have him join the 4BC team as we build on our existing strengths and augurs well for our future success in 2003.”

He will commence on Monday, 13 January 2003.
