Gina Jeffreys is the new co-host of STAR104.5 Breakfast

Multi-award-winning country singer, Gina Jeffreys, kicked off as co-host of Star 104.5’s new breakfast show, Rabbit & Gina this morning, along side Dave ‘Rabbit’ Rabbetts.

Gina was a guest on Star 104.5’s breakfast show for several weeks in December last year and co-hosted the Cancer Council’s “Stars of the Central Coast” with Rabbit.

“I’m going to be spending my mornings hanging out with someone who makes me laugh so hard it hurts!” says Gina, “Rabbit is the right mix of professional and fun. He’s off the cuff, quick witted, honest and funny. Joining Star 104.5 is not only about the laughs, we also share the same core beliefs – seeing the best in people, admiring kindness, celebrating life and having a positive outlook. What a way to start each day! I’m so excited to be a part of the Star family.”

Rabbit said of his new co-host, “I’ve completely lost my voice during Gina’s time with the show last year. Either I’m allergic to her – or we’re laughing so much it actually hurts! Time will tell….”

Shayne Sinclair, Star 104.5’s Program Director had an eye on Gina Jeffreys for some time.

“She’s a natural born entertainer, a Central Coast local through and through, and I’m also told she’s a pretty good singer! I couldn’t be happier that the stars have aligned (pun intended!) and we’ve been able to bring Gina into the Star 104.5 family in 2022,” he said.

Gina Jeffreys

Bursting on to the music scene in 1991, and opening for Johnny Cash’s national tour in 1994, Gina quickly became the face of Australian country music. The first female in the history of Australian country music to achieve platinum record sales and sell out shows across the nation, Gina has paved the way for future women in Australian country music.

After almost 30 years in the industry, with countless number one songs and multiple tours, Gina is still vowing crowds on stage and behind the scenes, mentoring young artists and penning chart-topping songs.

During lockdown, she wrote songs with multiple artists, with many of these in the top 10. She is also passionate about supporting up and coming young artists, with new acts Max Jackson and Courtney Keil on the line-up for Gina and Tania Kernaghan’s upcoming National Girls Night Out tour. Gina and Tania will also release a new album this year.
