Gippsland’s new STAR

From Monday, Gippsland, Melbourne’s south east and the Latrobe Valley’s 94.3 SEA FM will change its name to STAR FM.

This new launch is accompanied with the launch of a brand new frequency to the region – 97.9 STAR FM – Latrobe Valley.

Part of the Macquarie Regional Radioworks Network, 94.3 and 97.9 STAR FM will “add a new dimension to radio in the Gippsland area, with added broadcast signal to the Latrobe Valley and Traralgon areas.”

The rebranded station will have a new on air line up, featuring Kirsty and Brownie on the Morning Crew, followed by Mick Neven on day shifts, The Benchwarmers on drive and The Fat 30 at night.

Along with the new on air line up, STAR FM will undertake “regular large and exciting promotions.”

The new STAR FM ‘On the Streets’ team will be out and about every day in the ‘Harvey Norman STAR CARS,’ giving listeners the chance to win prizes and meet the new STAR FM line up.

Promotions’ Manager, Steve O’Halloran, has told radioinfo: “Listener parties, outside broadcasts, new on air benchmarks, today’s best music, the launch of the new 97.9 frequency and STAR FM brand will begin a new era for commercial radio in the Gippsland area.”

Macquarie RR Works competes with Ace Radio Network in this part of regional Victoria.
