Hamish and Andy go national on today network drive

Hamish and Andy on drive in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth
Fox FM’s top-rating drive duo Hamish and Andy will be launched on the airwaves around Australia from next Monday on the Today FM Network.

The show, which premiered on Melbourne’s FOX FM drive program in February this year, will now be heard on B105, SAFM and 92.9. The pair is already on air in the Sydney market weeknights on 2DAY FM in an ‘Up Late’ version of the show. The ‘Best Bits’ of Hamish and Andy are also replayed Saturday mornings across Australia.

Last week, in only their fourth ratings survey, Hamish and Andy went up 0.6 points to share the position of Melbourne’s number one drive show with 3AW. Earlier this year, and one month in drive, Hamish and Andy also announced they were Australia’s most-downloaded podcast on Apple’s iTunes service.

Austereo Melbourne General Manager Gary Pert has told radioinfo he is confident interstate listeners will take to the show:

“Hamish and Andy will appeal to the Today Network audience as they have created a recipe that works; delivering laughter, engaging topics and the kind of interviews people want to hear.”

In other Austereo programming changes, Triple M is also expected to revamp some programming in coming weeks, with major changes to its night lineup which are likely to extend the Paul Murray show’s duration.
