Hobart’s Hit100.9’s Jimmy & Nath go riding on the horses

When Hit Hobart’s Jimmy & Nath heard about a local man taking his horse and carriage through a McDonald’s drive-thru, they instantly put the call out to Hobart so they could get in on the action.

Lex Clark, of Wayatinah in Tasmania’s south, was spotted early in the week, heading through the McDonald’s Drive Thru in a horse and carriage to get a soft serve for himself and his horses, Sparky and Max.

Claiming it had always been a dream, Jimmy and Nath asked Lex if they could come along next time Lex was riding out.

Because the carriage carries up to 10 people, the pair put the invitation out to listeners to join them.

One listener even provided Jimmy & Nath with old jockey outfits, including a pair of pants that had actually been worn by a jockey riding in the Melbourne Cup.

Eight listeners joined Jimmy & Nath on the carriage and were treated to anything they wanted off the menu and McDonalds New Norfolk.

“I was just really excited to order breakfast,” said Nath. “We had a really big order including NEIGH-con & egg McMuffins, a capPONY-chino and a coke-a-FOAL-a.”

“It was a little awkward when I realised I had forgotten my wallet, but I said I’d make good next time I came through on the horse and cart, so the team at Maccas were cool with it,” added Jimmy.
