2CH evening presenter Ian Holland has been recognised for his services to country music by the industry in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Country Music Association has awarded him the prestigious International Country Broadcaster Award, for outstanding contributions to country music by a radio broadcaster based outside the United States.

Holland is delighted to be one of only three recipients of the award in 2006:

“Winning the award came out of the blue, it was a complete shock for me. I’ve been a huge supporter of country for a long time and I’m keen to help with the development of country Music in Australia.”

Holland has worked in radio for 37 years as an announcer, program director, music director and traffic reporting-guru.
