HOPE 103.2 listeners raise $792,632 during appeal

Supporters of Sydney’s Christian Radio Station Hope 103.2 have donated the most money ever, during the station’s recent ‘Speak Life’ June Appeal.

As a not-for-profit community radio station, Hope 103.2 relies predominately on listener donations, and to some extent on-air sponsorship, to cover the organisation’s day-to-day running costs. The station began 34 years ago.

“In the current climate of uncertainty, Hope 103.2 supporters have rallied strongly to ensure the future of this strong voice of hope – speaking life into the city of Sydney and beyond,” said CEO Phillip Randall.

“Throughout the appeal, our listeners shared on a very personal level about how much they are helped each day through our positive music, lifestyle segments, and telephone counselling service.

Randall gave the example of a listener named Cathryn who shared: “Thank you for your amazing station and ministry. The thought of waking up and going to sleep without this station (and Inspire Digital) is one I can’t imagine!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

The strong result will also enable Hope 103.2 to lease a satellite channel for delivery of syndicated program content to other Christian stations, as well as enabling hundreds of thousands of people in remote areas to access Hope 103.2 through their VAST satellite receivers.
