HOT FM Breakfast hosts attempt 500km on tandem bike

HOT FM’s breakfast duo Ned and Josh are used to spending a lot of time together, but this week is going to test their friendship. The boys are fundraising for Lifeline by riding a tandem bicycle 500km from Northam to Kalgoorlie to try to make it to the Kalgoorlie Cup.

Ned and Josh wanted to go to Kalgoorlie’s famous race .round so they put it to the WA public to decide how they would travel there. The listeners came up with the unique idea of a tandem bike – riding 500km from Northam to Kalgoorlie! Stirling Street Art Centre in Bunbury decorated the tandem bike as a horse to celebrate the horse racing theme and Ned and Josh and the Horse They Rode in on was born.

With not a lot of time to train, the guys are hopeful of making the total distance by 8am this Friday.

Event Manager on the road with the boys, Jarred O’Brien, isn’t so sure, “Ned and Josh haven’t trained much, our campervan already smells like a wet dog and we have to look at the boys in lycra all week, so things aren’t looking good!”

HOT FM’s Ned and Josh are fundraising for Lifeline in their 500km tandem bike ride all this week, broadcasting along the Great Eastern Highway for their regional WA breakfast show each morning until reaching Kalgoorlie for a special live show from St. Barbara’s Square Friday morning.
