Ian Holland moves back onto commercial radio

Ian Holland is moving back onto commercial radio, taking over the breakfast show at 2ST Bowral from June 14th.

Graeme Day, who’s done the show for the past 22 years will move to mornings.

For the past 18 months Holland has been doing breakfast on the local community station Highland FM, and says “It’s great to be back on a commercial station. 2ST is now part of ARN and is a brilliant local radio station. Incredibly professional and extremely community focussed. 

“It’s great to be working at a station that is only a couple of minutes down the road from where I live.” 

On April 13 he celebrated 52 years in radio, having worked both on the air and in management at stations that include 2VM Moree, 2DU Dubbo, 7LA Launceston, The Greater 3UZ Melbourne,Sydney stations 2UE, 2WS, 2GB, 2CH, 2SM, as well as 4GR and 4AK Toowoomba, and 4KQ Brisbane.

He says, “When at 4AK and 4GR I used to do 9 till midday and then fly my plane to Brisbane to do drive at 4KQ.”

Ian is a qualified commercial pilot who has been operating his own business, Trans National Air, since 1997, operating charter flights throughout Australia and traffic reports from the air for radio stations in Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong.
