John Lennon’s Imagine has been voted the most popular Classic Hit by Melbourne’s GOLD104 listeners as part of a recent poll – GOLD104’s Top 1000 Classic Countdown.
GOLD104 asked listeners to vote for their all time favourite songs via phone, fax or email, and received thousands of votes from listeners telling the station which songs they were most passionate about.
The Top Ten included two Australian Acts, with Cold Chisel coming in at #2 and Men At Work landing at #7.
At the bottom end of the countdown was My CooCaChoo by Alvin Stardust (#1000) and GOLD104’s very own Wilbur Wilde whose band Ol’ 55 had On The Prowl (#991).
The most voted for artist / band was The Beatles with 54 songs in the Top 1000 Countdown (not including solo tracks by Paul McCartney, John Lennon or George Harrison).
