Indigenous Media conference and AGM in Sydney: Sept 26-28

After the demise of NIMA (The National Indigenous Media Association) two years ago, a new body has now been formed to coordinate government funded Aboriginal broadcasting and media activities.

The Australian Indigenous Communications Authority (AICA) has now been set up to coordinate the Indigenous media sector and explore the possibility of developing a National Indigenous Broadcasting Service, similar to the SBS model (as reported on radioinfo last year).

In the next step towards this process, the AICA will hold an Annual General Meeting and a three day conference in Sydney between September 26 – 28. See the CBAA website for details.
