Keynote speaker James Packer will be joined by leading international and local industry experts at the 8th annual Australian Subscription Television and Radio (ASTRA) subscription television conference in Sydney on Thursday March 15.
ASTRA executive director Debra Richards announced the following conference speakers will join James Packer on the podium at the conference:
• President of STAR Platforms for the STAR Group, David Butorac
• Senior Vice President of International Distribution of FOX News Channel, Janet Alshouse; and
• Director of the Center for the Digital Future at the USC Annenberg School for Communication, Dr Jeffrey Cole.
The conference will focus on the record growth experienced by the industry in key areas such as subscribers, revenues and ratings as well as plans for future growth.
Australian industry leaders speaking at the conference include FOXTEL CEO Kim Williams and AUSTAR CEO John Porter in a presentation called “From the Top: The CEO Perspective”, moderated by SKY News political editor David Speers.
Starting the day is the Women Working in Television breakfast, where speakers will be: Janet Alshouse of FOX News; Cathy Payne, Chief Executive, Southern Star International (Sales); Katrina Southon, General Manager, Nickelodeon.
The afternoon plenary sessions will individually tackle content, new delivery platforms and future growth issues and will feature leading Australian subscription television executives including:
